Erektor Comparison with Surgery

Risk of penile implant surgeries

Penile implant surgery is the last and irreversible resort for treatment of ED.

In general two types of penile implants designs are available on the market: semi-ridged and inflatable designs. In both cases semi-ridged rods or inflatable tubes are inserted into corpora cavernosa of the penis shaft. With semi ridged devices, in rare cases rods can be break down and in inflatable designs fluid can leak or pump can fail requiring additional surgery. Every surgery has complications and infection is a possibility immediately after surgery or it may occurs several years later. Replacement of the implant is not a simple task but if infection occurs it is a necessity. Another problem with implant surgeries are the possibility of creating scar tissues, loss of sensation and decrease in penis length.
